Gremaud waters the flowers outside her business, ABC Boarding Kennel and Grooming for Pets. Gremaud usually begins her day at 6:30 a.m. and cares for the animals up until she goes to sleep late at night.
Whenever Gremaud sits on the concrete in the yard, the dogs she cares for pile on and around her. “A dog will never tell you to go away,” she says.

Through my studies at The Missouri School of Journalism I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Missouri Photo Workshop two years in a row. For my thrid year, I became the first recipient of the Ray Wong and Mardy Fones student scholarship, supporting me as a participant in the workshop. Under the guidance of Dennis Dimick and Beth Nakamura, I spent the week photographing Colette Germaud, a third generation pet boarder struggling with anxiety and the weight of her business.
